Mixing of Hydrocarbons and water a issue
Customer was using the level transmitter for measurement of waste of evaporated gas + water + oil in Tank. Customer had level measurement issue with the mixture in t tank and therefore the tripping was quite often as instrument went into error mode lot of times. During the measurement cycle the Hydracarbons use to get mixed with water causing sometimes measurement of level from the water or sometimes from the Hydrocarbon particles.
Displacer type level transmitter a only solution
It was analyzed the internal behavior of the GWR reflection at the surface in the chamber. By analyzing the envelope curves during the visit it showed sometimes the radar waves were reflecting of the hydrocarbon on the top of the chamber liquid or sometimes strong reflection were of water in the liquid. Endress+Hauser engineer found water percentage in the liquid was too high than the hydrocarbons. So it was clear that the mixture of water + hydrocarbon was the problem while measurement.
